This sail seems very successful, I really regret having missed the weather to make a top flight because it is made to fly for kms, climb very calmly in thermals (I think this is its strongest point) with a real gliding comfort with its leading edge resistant to turbulence. Mac Para, with its famous Magus, made me dream as a young pilot… This one could make new ones dream.

Verve EN C two-liner "litgh" by MAC PARA

Here we go again! A new two-liner EN C, it seems never stop having this new type of machine!
It has been 15 years since this technology appeared and now it is reaching maturity to be offered by almost all brands on EN C!

Canopy

The canopy with Nitinol rods can be folded very well (I like Nitinol) and the whole glider is rather light even if it is not among the lightest, it fits very well for hike & fly.

Risers

They are thin without being light (it's seriously more practical!) with the quite pleasant, asymmetrical carbon rear control bar.

Inflation

The inflation is fairly compact which immediately sets the impression of the canopy, it will be solid! The wingtips do not fall back when keeping with controls canopy on axis, nor do they want to overtake. So the canopy immediately presents a fairly reassuring aspect. It doesn't overshoot, stays very well above the head and the take-off feel is perfect. The control travel is quite similar to the Codex, a glider of the same category, with fairly quick brake contact and a little reverse roll that allows you to keep good pressure on the glider in small vertical shears without changing direction.

Steering

The turn is set quite quickly with a slight effort on the control but the canopy turns quite easily nonetheless. The turn is not fast or aggressive, the canopy gives the impression of climbing when turning and it is very pleasant. The performance of this canopy must truly be at the top of the category because the turn remains contained (does not dive or accelerate) and is quite stable. It's pretty easy to keep the glider in the turn, as it doesn't tend to want to go out. The consequence of this behaviour is a fairly slow change in direction of rotation, as the roll generates a small pendulum effect, but this is not at all annoying. Restarting the turn is also quite pleasant because, again due to this low roll stabilisation, releasing the outerside of the canopy to accelerate has a direct effect on the axis of rotation without causing the canopy to dive and making a turn too dynamic. The turn therefore remains, whatever its gesture, always at a very perceptible high efficiency.

Controls

The brake travel is quite long, you should not extend the brakes to the factory position because the sail offers a very long usable travel because the leading edge is so solid! I didn't manage to get the wingtips to bend backwards, although I went pretty far on the controls! So we can go there quite freely, the wingtips are super strong!

The whole thing is therefore a very beautiful glider (nice aspect ratio, low weight) with a very stable roll (Winglet???) a very solid leading edge from the center to the wing tips which has a rather reassuring behavior with a limited pitching.

The accelerator is effective, on 2/3 thirds we have a good speed gain, without being afraid, without pitching, the glider is solid! The steering at the rear is very direct when accelerated. It is a bit too firm to be useful in "cruising" mode (cushioned no bar transition) because the sail manages to "absorb" air mass defects well before needing correction.

I am more and more amazed by “modern” gliders where finding faults becomes complicated because it takes everything to satisfy everyone and I like to see the qualities and decision-making of the designer who gives a special character to each sail. This sail seems very successful, I really regret having missed the weather to make a top flight because it is made to fly for kms, climb very calmly in thermals (I think this is its strongest point) with a real gliding comfort with its leading edge resistant to turbulence.
