Progress - Solid Foundation with Exceptional Safety
The MacPara Progress is the perfect glider for entry level paragliding pilots to discover the fantastic new dimension of paragliding. It is very easy to use, incredibly safe and particularly forgiving. Inflation, launching and ground handling are effortless offering beginners to rapidly progress through the learning curve with confidence.
Top Choice for Flying Schools
Professional flying schools have a big responsibility and select their entry level paragliders carefully. Many hours have been put into designing the progress. Thanks to the cooperation from a number of different schools that work closely with MacPara. Rest assured you will have a great introduction to paragliding because of the Progress.
No Worry Flights - Built Solid
Overall ease of use, perfect flight characteristics and durability are the highlights of the Progress. The big 32 cells and a nice elliptically shaped canopy comes with an aspect ratio of 4.81 for added safety. The classic construction uses a system of load-bearing tapes attached between ribs giving the canopy stability that help maintain a clean profile. The Progress has a very low tendency to pitch forward thanks to the large cell openings used in the canopy design. This is especially advantageous when the conditions change and become less than ideal. The feeling you get flying the Progess is confidence building fun. This is what the perfect school glider should be like. Not too dynamic and not too boring.
Active Piloting and Simple Flights
The canopy is very resistant to collapse and shows docile behavior during extreme maneuvers. The Progress has simple handling and is extremely well damped in all axes. You will also find the Progress has excellent behavior during recovery from spiral dives thanks to new line geometry. The brake travel is long which is perfect for eager “heavy handed” pilots. Flying it at slow speeds has no deep stall tendencies to surprise you. The Progress comes with a 4 point riser system with 2 hang points and is equipped with split A risers for easy big-ears.
Quality Materials that Last
MacPara always uses high-quality materials and manufacturing the Progess is no different. The top surface of the leading edge is made from Porcher Sport’s new Skytex 45 Evolution fabric and guarantees long lasting durability. Each Progress paraglider is sewn with constant quality control during the manufacturing process. This will give you the peace of mind for your very first flights under a paraglider.

The Progress is manufactured using the paragliding industries well established lightweight material with excellent durability; Skytex 40, from Porcher Sport (NCV). Because for any glider, the part that always wears out first is the leading edge, we use Skytex 45 with evolution coating E85A for this. For the less stressed areas of the sail we use Skytex 40 with E38A coating. For the supporting and diagonal ribs we use Skytex 40 with “hard finish” coating E29A. This gives the advantage of a sail that is both lightweight and very durable.
