Hi there
Last task on Monarca Open was nearly 65 km long with goal in Valle de Bravo. Conditions were quite strong but later in flats little weaker because of big convergence clouds. Urban and Greg lead the task almost all the way. I flew litlle behind more tactically because of 200 leading points that i had. On the semi-final turnpoin I was on the top of second group just 1km behind Urban and Greg. We pushed in big lee of mountain Urban and Greg. found big termal I just missed it. Bad luck! The worst was I coudn't overfly plateau and I had to land at height just before the goal. Urban won the task and Greg came second. So 6 tasks all won by Valich brothers 3 tasks Aljaz 3 tasks Urban and of course MACPARA. We already started with preworlds irst task wins Urban. Second task wins Aljaz. We will writte you more about it later, we are very tired!!!
Cheers

Hello,
Already 8 task in Valle de Bravo! 6 for the Monarca and 2 for the preworld. It 's the best place I ever flew in competition. There is flying everyday here with good tasks ( 60 to 75km) with flat and mountain and lot's of convergences, 30 to 35 km/h for the best. The valic brothers 30 to 35 km/h for the best. The valic brothers won already 8 tasks!!!! They are always in front flying very well, sometimes too much risk, it's why they missed the podium. Today Aliaz wins a task of more than 70km I finished second.....We 'll have for sure 4 more tasks.... Since I'm in Valle I flew more than 40 hours....
Regards
Greg Hi there Today we had 82 km long task mostly set on never flown terrain before. Conditions were very difficult, medium termals with strong head wind in some parts. We flew with urban in leading group, but urban get low in midlle of race and was forced to land in non civilisation land. I think he will have long retrieve. I was traying to stay on the top of leading group. Just before the goal we have upwind leg and I made nice decision under convergence line and took lead in finnal glide. So again win for MAC PARA allready fifth in five tasks. Tomorow last mission.
Cheers

Hello from Mexico
We allready finished 4th rac e in Monarca Open comp. and Mac Para won again first two places thanks Aljaz and Urban. The conditions here are all the time strong and the race is full on, good test for pilots and their top guns. Mac Para show best preformance again and won ten minutes ahead. But we are still not betwen first thre places due to mistakes that we did on first task Urban and Aljaz on his second one. Greg did two mistakes in first two days but after he shows great preformance and his aproaching to top ten in overall. We still have two more days...... cross the fingers.
Urban Hi all
Yesterday we had first task in Monarca Open competition (PreWorld Championship) Organiser set 63 km long task with five waypoints. Weather conditions were first very good but later sky started to coverd with big cumuluses which shout down termal activity in some places. Start of the task we made in leading position all MAC PARA team pilots (Aljaz, Urban and Greg). After second turn point we were in lead 3 km in front of other pilots. When we flew to fourth turn point we hit the shadows of big convergece line. We had bad interval around 25 leading pilots bombed out there, unfortunatly Urban too. After that mistake many pilots were infront of us but I made few nice decisions and finnished task as first. Greg had bad luck and land in middle of race just after most difficult part. Only 16 pilots finnished mission of the day from 150 participating the event. Cheers
